Cratch Boards

Our standard top quality cratch boards are made from sepele mahogany; however, we have made them from ash or oak before now. We find that the mahogany boards with three coatings of Sikkens varnish have a longer life span and have the best looking finish. We use 6mm laminated glass for your safety and optimum strength.

Cratch boards can be made with or without a centre spar. A centre spar will benefit you if you require a spotlight to the front of the boat. If you prefer your cratch board without a centre spar you will be able to take advantage of an unobstructed view. Whatever your preference this does not affect the strength of the structure. You also have the option to have leading on the glass for a more unique look. Included in the price is a top or “king” plank with a lift block for the cabin roof which will assist the cover to shed any water from the roof section.
