Coverit Marine Trimmers, who are manufacturers of bespoke canal boat covers, is celebrating 50 successful years of servicing the marine sector in the UK. To mark their anniversary, they will be giving away one of their top quality covers (worth up to £500) to a lucky competition winner. Details of how to enter are shown below.
Achievement
Coverit was founded in 1958 by James Smith and was passed on to his son John. John, who has just completed 30 years with the company, said: "50 years of trading in any business is quite an achievement"and to celebrate their 50th anniversary the company staff and family will be pushing the boat out at a planned party very soon.
Coverit manufacture their waterproof and rot proof covers from their premises at 98, Bolton Road, Atherton, Manchester where they have been located for the past 25 years. Another reason for celebration is the fact that they have just paid their last mortgage installment and now own the premises outright!
Client base
Over the years Coverit has built a substantial client base who are always offered continuous support, after sales service and advice. As a result, many satisfied customers have returned to them over the years for replacement covers and repairs. Coverit also supply many boat builders with their covers and have fulfilled the demand for high quality canopies successfully for decades.
The main team comprise John Smith, a Marine Trimmer with 30 year's service, Gary White, also a Marine Trimmer with 25 year's service and Stephanie Smith the Sales/Marketing Manager. Other loyal members of staff have over 30 years in service with the company. As you can see there is a wealth of experience at Coverit.
After serving 15 years as John's right hand man, Gary White was made a full partner and the company has seen a steady growth since his appointment. John's daughter, Stephanie, has just joined the company and will be bringing her vast experience and knowledge from managing a thriving customer service department. Stephanie said: "I am excited at the prospect of expanding Coverit and proud to be following in my Father's footsteps. I am joining the company at age 26, the same age my father was when he took over 30 years ago. Coincidentally we both share the same birthday!"
